The Syllabus

Built on the ECZ Computer Studies syllabus, module by module.

Every session maps to what’s examined by the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) at Grade 12 — not a generic international course.

1. Computational Thinking
Breaking problems into steps, spotting patterns, planning a solution before coding it.

2. Programming Fundamentals
Syntax, variables, control flow, functions — building working programs from scratch.

3. Data Structures and Algorithms
Lists, arrays, sorting and searching — how programs organise and process data.

4. Databases
Organising data into tables, basic queries, why real systems use databases.

5. Internet and Networked Systems
How the internet actually works, client-server basics, everyday networking concepts.

6. System Design
Evaluating and improving a design — is it efficient, scalable, well thought out.

7. Project and Portfolio
The ECZ coursework project: planning, documenting, and presenting a finished piece of work.

Not on the list? It doesn’t matter — anywhere with a stable internet connection works.

Why Learn With Me

FAQ

Good to know.

Is “Computer Studies” the same as “Computer Science”?
Yes. The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) officially names this subject “Computer Studies” on the Grade 12 School Certificate exam. Some schools and students call it “Computer Science” informally — it’s the same ECZ subject and syllabus either way.

Which grades and towns is this for?
Form 1 through Form 4 students preparing for the ECZ Grade 12 exam, anywhere in Zambia — Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Kabwe, Chingola, Mufulira, Livingstone, Solwezi and beyond. Lessons are 100% online.

Do I need my own computer?
A laptop or desktop is best for the programming and project modules, but early topics can be followed on a phone or tablet if that’s what you have.

What if I’m not sure whether I need Computer Studies or ICT?
Send me your school timetable or textbook name and I’ll tell you which one you’re actually studying — they’re separate ECZ subjects with different syllabi.

How do lessons happen?
Live one-on-one video calls, with screen sharing for coding and project work. All you need is a stable internet connection.
